Dr. Kuljan Lama, BAMS. says:March 18, 2013 at 8:39 am  Very happy to know about you. Good luck!
Dr. Sunil Parashar says:September 15, 2013 at 6:56 am  First, I thank to all for such valuable information and PDFs.
I suggest one more thing to be added- to publish about best books of Ayurveda on basis of your experience, and also tell why. This becomes a guide to those student who can’t understand Ayurveda due to various reasons like country, state, language etc. I think principles of Ayurveda are more in theory, not more in practice due to less research works. We need to resolve theses in mathematical expression or formula so that it becomes easy to implement, and that becomes useful to every BAMS doctor.

September 16, 2013 at 12:51 pm  Thanks doctor. As you suggested, we also wish to collect articles, books, booklets, notes… etc. that will help doctors, students, and people in general to know Ayurveda and Health better. Such materials will help them to boost their understanding, knowledge and skills. Whole life is a learning process. As you suggested, we lack some quick references for daily practice. We will be striving for that. And there is another aspect too, that is some of the ideas of Ayurveda are in short formula (sutra) that need to be interpreted better, and some need to be turned into short practical formula as you have mentioned. As you know that Yoga Sutra of Patanjali was also in concise form, now overwhelming number of people practice it world wide for better physical, mental, and spiritual health. (Yoga and Ayurveda are sister-sciences.)
BAMS doctors are serving in government, community and private health care centers. They have some sorts of experiences. And they also need some re-learning through some good books, journals, seminars, and all that CMEs. They practice more Ayurveda, as in Kerala. They practice integrated medicine as in Maharastra/Mumbai. They practice more allopathy as in some of government PHCs in some states of India. This trend is similar in Nepal. So, we need to boost these doctors in Ayurveda and related medical sciences or sister-sciences to help people get better health care. There are some Ayurvedic specialties. They are also doing better job. So, we should thank all Ayurveda doctors for their efforts they have been making to help people.
We should also discourage some wrong, harmful, or fake practices in the name of Ayurveda. In China, they have incorporated their Traditional Chinese Medicine in mainstream, and is becoming better through modern forms of researches, it is as per the ideals of WHO. But in India and Nepal, some hard-liner doctors having degree of western medicine, often disrespect the contribution of Ayurveda, Ayurveda that helped people from time immemorial, and till now. Ayurveda is much sought-after medicine in the world, now more than before.
Many problems can be solved by proper diet, lifestyle, and hygiene. Many problems like emergencies need allopathy medicines, and many chronic problems need Ayurveda, Yoga, and Panchakarma. Many activities of preventions, treatment/cure, health promotions, elderly care, and rehabilitation can be largely supported by theory and practice of Ayurveda. This becomes safe, cheap and probably the best. And many ideas of treatment and care needs revising and improving, that may be done by researches of Ayurveda, or by use of integrative model or through new paradigm. We should broaden the concept of health as broad as in Ayurveda. And we should keep door of extensive studies or researches open to make better health models for future human society. Health care is not just cure through treatment, it is now a management, meaning you work to the extent of making the life of people or patient more better and easier as possible.
At least, we all can share some of our experiences in minor to major health care problems. So, we request to all the doctors like you to contribute by providing some of your valuable articles or papers on the basis of your experiences. And you also can provide us the books or the book review. We will receive and share those to all the people all over the world. Our attempt will help all the people, including BAMS doctors.
We also need more responsible government to invest in researches, quality control in medicines and health care institutions, and in legal redefining the contribution of BAMS doctors. Though BAMS doctors work a lot, their contribution is ignored. We should be doing all the things- study, care people, share knowledge and skills, and advocate better and just health care systems in Nepal, in India, and all over the world. Hope, things go improving in coming days.
Lets do small but good things that we are doing in all the days, despite some inevitable pains that gives joy at last.
